Louie Anderson Live at the Plaza

The other night I had the opportunity to see Louie Anderson Live in Las Vegas at the Plaza.  My friend, Kathi had free tickets (as sometimes we locals do).  Little cocktail tables were everywhere and we got great seats, less than 6 feet from the stage-I felt like I was a celebrity too-I was so close.  It was a great show-totally PG as always.  I had seen Louie about a year ago and the act was almost 100% different from last time.  He loves to refer his aging process and weight gains and losses.  Plus he has a new reality show starting next spring "Get off the Couch!" and is looking for applicants.  He wants to inspire those that need to lose weight, the way he has-40 pounds and counting.  So if you want to lose weight and maybe the next reality superstar-contact Louie@louieanderson.com and tell him I sent you.  He will send a personal response back to each and everyone of you.

 

I ate at the Cantina Laredo in Tivoli Village in Las Vegas.  The prices were too high, the food portions were too small, but the food and the Sangria were excellent.  I had the Carne Asada, which was done to perfection, but for $20, it came with a little rice, a thin slice of avocado & tomato.  My friend had the Mahi-Mahi fish tacos, for $14, but they were miniature tacos, on a small plate, with rice that kept falling off the plate, every time Ginny tried to eat something.  The Blood Orange Sangria for $7.50 was tremendous.  And I don't usually like Sangria, because it is too sweet. but this was the best.  The place was packed, very noisy, but the service was quick and good.  We placed our order and received it 5 minutes later. 20 minutes later, they were handing us our check and we weren't even finished eating.  Obviously they were looking for a quick turnover on a Saturday night.  Will I go back, no probably not.  There are very good Mexican restaurants in Las Vegas, that have equally good food & service for a lot less money.
